SHOPS.

PEGO(easiest)        Follow road out of village to ADSUBIA(L’atzubia) turn left at T junction going through Adsubia to Pego. Straight on at traffic lights, at next lights straight ahead for MERCADONA (ahead 50 yds on the right) or turn left and 50 yds ahead on left is INTERMARCHE.  

 

Oliva.                      Take road to Oliva by going through village past the Bar Nautilus on the right and down through the orange groves.Turn left at the T junction and follow road to Oliva.Turn right at large sweeping right turn before brickworks then left at traffic lights into Oliva.

For the supermarket,turn off the main road in Oliva at the sign for "Playa".Take the second on the left and 400 yds on the right is the "MERCADONA".

 

NEAREST                CAPRABO on the left between Oliva and Gandia.Next to this is a LIDL.

HYPERMARKET.     CARREFOUR -Turn right just before Gandia following signs. Opposite is a shopping complex with shops,restaurants and cinema.

 

Gandia Town.      Excellent quality and variety of shops, best after 5pm. Follow carparking signs for “SERPIS”.

 

Vergel.                   Go here for CERAMICS.There is a shop on the right hand side as you enter Vergel.

 

Jalon                      Good selection of bodegas,specialist ham and honey shops.

 

Ondarra.                “Aguilar Bodega” on the left as you leave Ondarra.   Excellent  selection of wine and their own copy Liquers.       

 

MARKETS.

Monday.                Denia Very large and busy. +daily fish market from 4pm.

Thursday.              Pego                     

Friday.                    Oliva       Lovely market especially for food.

Saturday.               Gandia   Another large market.

Jalon – interesting market full of antiques,bric a brac, bygones etc.    

 

BEACHES.            Follow signs for "Playa" or "Platjes".

 

Clotal                     Wonderfully secluded,excellent beach with two small bars.From the Mercadona on your right in Oliva keep driving straight along the bypass to Valencia. At the second roundabout turn first right following the sign for Clotal.After approx 1 mile the road forks to the right.                                                 

 

Denia /

Oliva                       Lovely long stretches of sandy beaches.

 

Gandia Beach       Lively beach scene with lots of shops and restaurants that stay open till about midnight Follow sign for Grau/Playa.

 

SIGHTS.           

 

Vall De’Ebo.          From Forna take road to Adsubia.At T junction turn right to Benirrama.Drive up through the valley full of cherry groves and then drop back down towards Margarida and Vall de Ebo. A must is the DEL RUL Caves,incredibly coloured Stalactites and Stalagmites and interesting shapes moulded by the waters over thousands of years.Continue back down this enchanting valley to end up just below Pego.

 

GUADALEST.          Mountain top castle with magnificent views.

JAVEA.                    lovely seaside promenade.

GATA.                     Famous for its basketware.

FUN PARKS            AQUALANDIA – Water fun Park with many rides- great fun for all.Approx 45 minutes drive to Benidorm.

TERRA MITICA – A huge new fun park which will keep you amused for a full day. Approx 45 Minutes drive to Benidorm.FIESTA.               GREAT ENTERTAINMENT !! Look out for one of the many fiesta's held throughout Spain.

XATIVA                   Huge castle high on a ridge above the town.

 

RESTAURANTS.

 

 

POTRIES.          Moli-Canyar –Highly Recommended. Superb conversion of Rice Mill into an excellent restaurant providing great food at great prices. Open every day for lunch providing huge quality buffet for 7 Euros and evenings Friday and Saturday only.

Pedreguer.      Los Arcos – Open Lunchtime only Tuesday to Friday. Excellent Menu del Dia.

 

Forna.              Bar Nautilus-offers good meals. Paella and specials of your need to be ordered a day in advance. Closed Tuesdays.

 

Adsubia.          Close by between Forna and Pego."Bar Moletta"good for daily lunch menus but evening meals can be more expensive. Excellent Tapas.

 

Alcalali.           Highly recommended.A 25 minute drive into the mountains takes you to the Jalon valley and lots of restaurants offering excellent value.From Pego take the road to Sagra,then on to and past Orba, turn left at the sign for "Benissa".About 1/2 mile on the left is the VALBON (not recommended) continue on to the T junction (good restaurants here) turn left and about 1/4 mile on the left you will find the excellent "RESTAURANT PEPE"  OR for La SOLANA turn left before PEPE and then 1st right-painted dark red and provides food at excellent value. There are several other restaurants in the vicinity all of which  offer excellent value for money. Drive into Jalon (XALO) for more restaurants, Bodegas, Honey  and Ham shops etc. A nice village to stroll around. 

 

Pego.               Hotel ELVIA Mon to Sat provides an excellent 4 course lunch for 9 Euros in the bar or outside terrace. For something more special try their restaurant. Located  behind the new Factory units on the approach road to Pego from Vergel (look for a big yellow “H” sign).

 

Calpe.              Follow signs to the Port sample one of the numerous fish restaurants with their fantastic displays of fish outside and waiters trying to entice you with free drinks and snacks.

 

Oliva.               Oliva beach.Instead of turning left to Mercadona carry straight on.At the beach turn right and drive for approx 200yds. Restaurant Deportes will provide a lovely meal whilst you look out over the sea.

                        LA Traviatta – new Italian approached from main street or behind indoor market

Viva Espana – Sat night/Sun lunch floor show with dinner and dance.

                       

Oliva-Nova

Hotel              If you feel like a touch of class (or a round of Golf)visit the Oliva Nova Hotel.Very large terracotta coloured building .From Oliva follow road to Alicante.At twin petrol stations turn off following signs for “urbanisation”. Golf driving range and a first class 18 hole golf course. Lovely beach at the back of the Hotel.

The Golf Club Bar restaurant and terrace overlooking the course is open to all and provides good value food and refreshments.

TOLLOS            Interesting food, building (old school house) and journey. Closed Mon and Tues. Book to avoid  disappontment  - 965518328

                       

 

There are details of many Restaurants in the Tarjeta file in the Villa. In peak time we advise you to book. The majority speak good ENGLISH.
